Hi Ronald!
Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
The "Kiss Goodnight" is a special moment that happens about 30 minutes after park closing each evening in
Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom Park. As the last guests are making their way down Main Street, U.S.A., enjoying last-minute shopping or a Mickey Ice Cream Bar, "Wish Upon a Star" begins playing throughout the park as
Cinderella Castle lights up and twinkles for a final evening farewell. The light show lasts about 2-3 minutes, and includes this short message:
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, on behalf of everyone here at the Magic Kingdom, we thank you for joining us today for a magic gathering of family, friends, fun, and fantasy. We hope your magical journey with us has created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
Walt Disney said that the Magic Kingdom is a world of imagination, hopes, and dreams. In this timeless land of enchantment, magic and make believe are reborn, and fairy tales come true. The Magic Kingdom is a place for the young and the young at heart. A special place where when you wish upon a star, your dreams can come true. Until we see you again, have a safe trip home. Thank you, and goodnight.”
It's such a nice touch, and a beautiful way to end the day at the most magical place on Earth. The "Kiss Goodnight" can be seen every evening at Magic Kingdom, but will not usually occur on Special Event evenings (Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party).
I hope you will make plans to be a part of this special moment on your Walt Disney World Resort vacation in November. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
