Ahoy there, Dennis!
Welcome aboard planDisney! One of the things I love most about sailing with Disney is that
so much pixie-dusted magic is already included in your fare. You can absolutely enjoy a full voyage without spending a single extra doubloon—think of it like discovering you accidentally stepped into the Cave of Wonders and everything around you is already yours.
Let’s start with the activities and events you can book before embarkation. Since you’re setting sail tomorrow, you’ve probably noticed options like Port Adventures, Premium Dining, the Senses Spa & Salon, and all kinds of onboard fun. These are usually the activities that come with additional costs. A shining exception—almost like stumbling upon a glass slipper at midnight—is the Royal Gathering. It’s completely complimentary but does require a reservation, so it’s always worth securing it early. Anything you can book in advance will clearly show a price or note that it’s included at no additional cost.
Once you board the ship, the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app becomes your enchanted map. You’ll find an even wider lineup of activities—Broadway-style shows, themed trivia, deck parties, character meet and greets, and movies straight from the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars universes. Most of these are included and many don’t require reservations. If something costs extra or needs to be booked, the app will make it as clear as Rapunzel’s lanterns lighting the night sky.
Now, let’s talk dining. In the main rotational dining rooms, nearly everything on the menu is included, and your Dining Team will be thrilled to guide you through all the delicious options. Some items—alcoholic beverages, premium cocktails, and a few specialty drinks—are marked as an additional charge. Just look for the notes on the menu. Anything with an extra cost will be unmistakably indicated. Beyond the dining rooms, you’ll find some extra-charge items such as Palo Steakhouse, popcorn from Preludes, and activities like Bingo if you’d like to test your luck like you’re trying to win a golden ticket.
Beverages can also be a mix. Alcohol generally comes with an additional charge unless you’re enjoying offerings in the Concierge Lounge (if sailing Concierge) or during a Welcome Reception in the Grand Hall. If you ever see servers circling with trays of sparkling beverages as you enter the Grand Hall, go ahead and take one—it’s usually complimentary, and always magical.
Let’s not forget all the incredible things that are included. Soft-serve ice cream on the pool deck, soda and juices at the beverage stations and buffet, and one of my personal favorites—complimentary room service. I always recommend tipping your Cast Member for room service, but the food itself is included. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy a quiet moment, whether you’re starting your day or wrapping up your evening after watching the stars glimmer over the open sea.
If you’re ever unsure about something, just ask a Cast Member. Think of them as your own personal Jiminy Cricket—always ready to offer guidance, clarity, and a little extra magic along the way.
I hope this helps as you get ready to step aboard and discover all the magic included in your sailing. You’ll be surprised at how much is
already waiting for you before you ever reach for your Key to the World card.
Sea ya real soon with holiday cheer, calm seas, and magical winter memories,
Dustin
