Hiya Tracey,
Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited that you are here and that you reached out to ask your question. As someone who suffers from allergies and asthma, I can attest to the need to minimize as many allergens as possible, starting with my Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel accommodations. I love that Disney has been renovating resorts that have added wood-like flooring to their rooms. It not only limits the sniffles, but it also makes the rooms look incredible (in my opinion). Some of my favorite resorts to stay at, including
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and
Disney’s Port Orleans-French Quarter, had wood flooring, and it was amazing!
I checked in with a Cast Member, and unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an official list of non-carpeted Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels at the moment. I suspect that it has a lot to do with the fact that many resorts are still in the process of renovations (some only have some rooms renovated), so the list wouldn’t be up to date. My best advice is to look at the room photos for the individual resorts. This will give you a pretty good idea of which are updated and which are not. Once you decide which resorts you like, I recommend you call a Cast Member at Disney Resort Hotel Reservations to verify the flooring once you have a resort or two (or three) in mind. Once you select a resort, then you can put in a request for a non-carpeted room in your room preferences.
I’m sorry I couldn’t give you a more definitive list, Tracey, but I hope I was helpful. Please come back and see us if you need anything!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
