I know that the Holiday and New Years time will be hectic and I plan on avoiding that. With that said, I plan on going to Disney World on January 2-9, 2015. Even though the beginning of my trip is a weekend, can I expect somewhat less crowds at the parks?

    Hi Ryne,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

You are correct, Christmas and New Year's are a very busy time at Walt Disney World.  Your idea to visit from January 2 to January 9, 2015 is a good one for avoiding those crowds.  Typically, a few days after January 1, as children begin to head back to school, the crowds at Walt Disney World go down.  I think that you can expect high crowds at the beginning of your trip, which will get smaller as your trip progresses.  When I am looking for predictions of crowd levels at Walt Disney World, I like to visit the unofficial site touringplans.com.  For a small price, you can see their predictions of crowd levels at Walt Disney World for a year in advance.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Ryne!  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
