Hi Jennifer! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
The type of collapsible stool you're describing is
prohibited at Disneyland Resort. All persons and bags are subject to
security search, and going through security, your mother would either have to surrender the chair or return it to her vehicle or hotel, which would be a really unmagical start to the day. Guest safety is always important and the attraction queues move fairly quickly, so there really isn't much time to sit in one place before moving forward again. Best to skip the chair in this case.
However, if waiting in queues presents a challenge for your mother, you might speak with
Disability Services about Disability Access Service. Disneyland Resort is dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all Guests, and this service can be useful for Guests with certain eligible disabilities. I've visited with friends and family using DAS and saw how seamlessly it made their experience in the parks. It's worth checking out!
You'll be visiting at my favorite time of year: the
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. The festive decor, treats, merchandise, and entertainment are guaranteed to get you in the spirit of the season. There's nothing like it! My favorite part about visiting during the holidays is the special holiday overlays you'll find on select attractions. Don't miss "it's a small world" Holiday in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park. It's absolutely magical, and this festive overhaul of an already iconic attraction is also a great viewing place for nighttime entertainment, which includes projections.
I hope you have a magical family trip!
Elizabeth
