I know that floats like swimmies and pool noodles are not allowed on the cruise lines. Can you tell me what uscg approved pfd’s are approved for 20lbs. I have two that are between 20 and 30lbs and don’t know how to swim. One is 22 months and one is 5.

Welcome to planDisney MacKenzie!  I know that safety is very important to you, and it is for Disney Cruise Line as well.

You can bring your own US Coast Guard approved life vest, water wings, and floatation sewn into bathing suits onboard. If you do not want to pack it, complimentary life vests are available on all Disney Cruise Line ships and Castaway Cay for use by Guests.  I checked in with a Disney Cruise Line Help Center representative and the sizes that are available for children are XS, S, and Youth.  However, the representative did not have access to the recommended weights for the life vests; you will need to check once onboard.

Please note that only children who are toilet trained are permitted to enter swimming pools per the United States Public Health Service.  Swim diapers are not permitted in the pools.  Swim diapers are permitted in splash zones though.

Other than water activities, MacKenzie, there are plenty of other activities for your family to do together such as catch a live show and arts and crafts.  All of the activities will be listed in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app so be sure to download it before you embark.  I hope you have a great vacation onboard Disney Cruise Line.  If you have any other questions, visit us at planDisney for help.

    Happy Sailing!
