Welcome to planDisney, Machon!
We are so happy to hear that you’ll be visiting Typhoon Lagoon, and hope that you enjoy every moment of your adventure! You’re sure to have a *splashing*-good time!
Typhoon Lagoon is my favorite water park at Disney World as it is the one I visited the most with my family while I was growing up! Be sure to use sunscreen, stay in the shade when you can, and stay hydrated!
I’m happy to let you know that I have visited
Typhoon Lagoon with many different kinds of swimming suits (including some with the standard plastic adjustable buckles on the straps like you were talking about) and have had no problem! I will say, for the slides with larger drops, that having a rash guard shirt was helpful to keep the adjustable buckles from digging into my shoulders while riding! You should be fine to wear these small plastic buckles, but please remember that if they are larger, or pose a
safety concern, a Cast Member may notify you and help you find a solution. (I think you will be fine though!)
You should be good to wear a hat on some of the slides if the hat attaches firmly to your head and is not too loose, does not have dangling straps or strings, and if you’re not going on a slide where your head must stay back against the water slide. A Cast Member will happily direct you in the right direction when it comes to the safety measures for each particular slide. You can always have a member of your party hold your hat on slides that will not accommodate your hat. You can also rent a locker at Typhoon Lagoon if you find that you need to take off your hat for some of your day.
If you have additional questions before your visit, we hope you’ll *swim* by planDisney again, Machon!
Have a lovely week,
Allyn
