Hiya, Amy! Welcome back to planDisney! As the proud dad to some tall children myself, I’m happy to help you with this question.
You are correct that kids under 3 years old do not need a theme park ticket for entry. You do not need to bring any proof of age for your kiddo; it’s an honor-based system. So there’s no need to bring a birth certificate or other important documents on your holiday. If you’d like some peace of mind, you could snap a photo or scan a copy of your child’s birth certificate and keep it on your phone. This likely isn’t necessary, but it never hurts to be prepared.
As you plan for your Walt Disney World adventure, be sure to take advantage of all the helpful planning tools on the
My Disney Experience mobile app. A particularly useful one when traveling with young kids is the
attraction search feature on the app’s map. To find it, just navigate to the map in the My Disney Experience app (the location pin icon at the bottom of your screen) and then select the attractions icon (the star) along the top. A variety of filters will appear just below the icon, including location and height requirements. You can find more filter options, such as suggested age and interests, by tapping the round button with three lines just to the left of the location filter.
I use this feature all the time when creating Disney vacation
itineraries for my family. It’s a great way to familiarize yourself with everything the parks have to offer and set expectations with your kiddo about what they can expect when visiting Walt Disney World.
I hope this information is helpful, Amy. Pop right back to planDisney if you have any other questions. Your planDisney pals are here to help!
Magical travels!
