I know this is in the distant future, but planning on January 2019 for our first trip to Disney with our 3y/o daughter. When do the parks & resorts take down the Christmas decorations?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kimberly! I’m glad you’re hEAR! I just got back from a whirlwind trip with plenty of besties at Walt Disney World Resort. I was surprised to arrive with Christmas decorations everywhere and as the trip went on, I watched them disappear!

You’ll certainly find holiday decorations at the Parks through the 12th day of Christmas (January 6th) but you may see them disappear from the Resorts a tad earlier. During my trip in early January 2018, I arrived on the 3rd, and Christmas was alive and well! I had a great big Christmas tree and swags all throughout Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Magic Kingdom were dancing with twinkling lights. Even Gertie was still donning her Santa cap! By the time my Walt Disney World Resort Marathon Weekend 10k came, the Christmas tree in the hotel lobby had vanished overnight. That was December 5th. The parks were still decorated until the 7th, but the Resort decorations were put away slightly ahead of that. If you are visiting through the new year with your preschooler, you may still see some Holly and Evergreen Christmas decor.

If I can help you out with more vacation planning aspects, or perhaps to help you find a little more Merry Magic with your preschooler, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
