Rhonda, hello and welcome to
planDisney. I'm so glad you've dropped by with your question.
I love the Walt Disney World Water Parks. In fact, I've made the 8-hour drive down from my house to enjoy a day at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon only to turn around and drive right back home. It's that level of fun. I'm excited to know that you are thinking about enjoying a day there next week.
Rhonda, you are allowed to wear water shoes at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. For most all attractions there, you'll even be able to wear them down the water slides. Do make sure they are true water shoes, however, as flip flops are not permitted on the water slides themselves. I will say that I have pretty sensitive feet but most of the time I don't pack water shoes for the water park. I find that the steps leading up to the water slide and the bottom of the wave pool there are actually not that uncomfortable to stand on. So it isn't something I would suggest going on and spending a bunch of money on. What I find water shoes to be best for is during the summer months when the pavement gets hot, hot, hot! But visiting in March, you aren't going to be seeing those scorching temperatures.
At Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park my absolute favorite attraction is the
surf pool. I could spend all day getting tossed around by the life-size waves. It's so much fun. Another great addition to this water park is
Miss Adventure Falls. It's super unique in that you actually get in your inner tube at the base of the slide and then take an aqua-escalator to the top. It's a must-do. And then you can't forget about the quintessential water park treat - mini doughnuts! I like to grab a dozen or so of them at the end of the day on the way out.
I hope you enjoy your day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Rhonda. If you have any other questions before you go, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help!
Have fun.
