Hello, Kathy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!
You are correct. Disney used to have a program called Disney Vacation Account to help Guests save and budget for Disney Parks vacations, but unfortunately this service has been discontinued. However, I would love to share with you a few budgeting tips that may be just as helpful!
First, consider booking a
vacation package to bundle your hotel accommodations, theme park tickets, character dining vouchers, and more into one transaction. When you book a package, you only need to pay $200 at the time of booking. You can then make payments toward your vacation in any amount and any frequency you wish as long as your package is paid in-full 30 days prior to your arrival date. So if you are planning for a vacation that is still several months away, this would be a great way to spread the cost over time to be more budget-friendly.
Another idea is to periodically purchase Disney Gift Cards. They can be purchased at many locations like Target, grocery stores, drug stores, and online at
www.disneygiftcard.com. Gift cards can then be used to pay for theme park tickets, food and merchandise at the parks, and even your Disneyland Resort Hotel room. Put whatever amount you were planning on saving each month on a Disney Gift Card instead. You can then consolidate your balances onto one card on the Disney Gift Card website for added convenience.
Finally, be sure to check the
Offers & Discounts page often for promotions that might apply to your travel dates.
I hope this helps. Please stop by again with any other questions you may have!
