I know in Disney world you cannot purchase a dress at bibbidi bibbidi boutique without a reservation but are you able to at Disneyland? And if so how much do the signature dresses cost just the dress not including the makeover experience.

Hello Friend, and welcome to planDisney. It sounds like you have a royal adventure in the works, and I have pixie-dusted news that can make it even more magical!

At the Disneyland Resort, you can absolutely purchase a princess gown, accessories, and other treasures from Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique without booking a makeover package. There's a charming retail area at the boutique's entrance where royal essentials are available individually.

The selection varies, but you’ll likely find everything from shimmering gowns to sparkly tiaras and enchanted accessories. The cost of a gown can differ depending on the style, with some under $100 and others over $300. The highest tier is the Signature Disney Princess gown, which is made with heirloom-quality fabrics and exquisite detailing. Keep in mind that the selection and cost are subject to change.

I can personally vouch for the boutique’s magic. A few months ago, my daughter’s favorite (and very well-worn) shoes broke early in our Disneyland day. We popped into Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and walked out with a pair of shimmery, golden slippers that she still wears all the time! And we did that without a package.

Of course, if you're considering the full royal treatment, the makeover experiences are truly unforgettable. I’ve done it with each of my kids – they had big smiles on their faces the whole time, especially at the end during the big reveal moment. That's when the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice spins the chair around and draws back a curtain to unveil a mirror (and happy reflections). Several package options are available, including ones with and without gowns, and even options for knights.

And don’t forget: the Disneyland Resort offers plenty of ways to meet beloved Characters, which is extra fun for kids after getting dressed up in enchanted outfits. From surprise royal strolls to designated meet-and-greet spots, the magic is everywhere! Use the Disneyland mobile app to see which Characters are greeting Guests and where, or stop by the Royal Hall in Fantasyland, where you can often meet two or three Disney Princesses. Character dining and shows are also wonderful ways to see familiar faces. Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures might be the most special experience if you're interested in meeting many royal friends.

My Friend, please reach out if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!

Wishing you a happily ever after,
