Ahoy, Jennifer! Thanks for sailing to planDisney with your question. My pals and I are happy to have you here with us.
You can combine the wonders of a Disney Cruise from Port Canaveral, with time before or after your sailing (or maybe both!) at the
Walt Disney World Resort! In order to book this type of
land and sea package, you have two options. You can
call the friendly agents at Disney Cruise Line to have them arrange the travel, or you may book your hotel and tickets to Walt Disney World and your Disney Cruise Line reservation separately. If you decide to make your travel arrangements on your own, I recommend that you call Disney Cruise Line to add a ground transfer from your
Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel to or from Port Canaveral. Adding ground transfers makes for a seamless transition between the land and sea portion of your vacation.
There's a debate about whether it is best to visit Walt Disney World before or after your cruise. Some say it makes for a more relaxing vacation to enjoy the theme parks first and end with a cruise. I personally feel so sad when I step off of a Disney Cruise ship, that I love to head straight to Walt Disney World! It eases the pain of saying farewell to Captains Mickey and Minnie.
If you find that you can't get enough of cruising with Mickey and the gang, consider booking a placeholder through the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app during your sailing. You'll be able to apply your placeholder to a sailing within 24 months and enjoy a discount on most itineraries. Please cruise back to us at planDisney if you have more questions. It's a joy to help!
Happy Planning,
Adrianna
