I know disney has changed the GAC cards. My question is can you use the new card for waiting for one ride and use the traditional fast pass for another? Will be visiting mid October and would like to know. My 7 old son has autism.

    Hi, Nicole!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Disney has modified the Guest Assistance Card (GAC) and will be replacing it with the new Disability Access Service (DAS) Card effective October 9th. Yes, you will be able to use the traditional FASTPASS service for one attraction (provided it is FASTPASS eligible) and the new DAS Card for another. The DAS Card does not limit your ability to use the traditional FASTPASS service.

An important thing to note is that the return time on the DAS Card is valid until redeemed by the DAS Cardholder -- in other words, you are not required to return to the attraction at the exact return time listed. However, you will be unable to get another return time until the current one has been used.

You mentioned that you'll be visiting in the middle of October, so I wanted to let you know about a new tool recently developed by Disney Parks: the "Guide for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities". This new Guide, which is expected to be available online by mid-October, was developed specifically to assist Guests with planning how best to experience the theme parks.

For more information on the new DAS Card program, follow this link to the Disney Parks Disability Access Service Card Fact Sheet recently posted on the Disney Parks Blog.

Please don't hesitate to write back if I can assist you further with any last-minute planning for your trip.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
