I would like to know how the dining reservations work. Is there a required amount you have to pay down when you make your reservation? We are thinking of Be Our Guest, (dinner), O'hana (breakfast), and Akershus Royal Hall (breakfast). Thank you!

    Hi Tana!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

This is a great question, and I am very happy to explain the process to you.   Dining reservations are recommended at Table-Service restaurants, and can be made up to 180 days in advance.  If you are staying at Disney Resort hotel, you are able to make reservations 180 days in advance, +9 days of your trip, all at once.  Reservations can be made online, by using your My Disney Experience mobile app, or by calling (407) 939 3463.  You will be asked for your credit card details which will be held on the reservation to guarantee your booking.  No charge will be made to your credit card unless you do not turn up at the restaurant, in which case a $10 cancellation fee per person will be charged (this fee is subject to change).  There are a few locations that will require full advance payment.  These include Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park, and dinner shows such as Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.  The three restaurants that you have listed (great choices, by the way!) do not require pre-payment, but I would recommend that you make your reservations as soon as you can because they are very popular - especially Be Our Guest Restaurant.  You may cancel your reservations, without penalty, up to 24 hours before.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.  We will be very happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World.
