The
Disney Skyliner has really been a gamechanger when it comes to traveling from Disney's Pop Century Resort to EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and even some other resorts for some outstanding restaurant options (I'm looking at you,
Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera at
Disney's Riviera Resort). And really, at the end of the day, it's an attraction in and of itself and I just enjoy the ride!
At this time, the dates for the Disney Skyliner annual refurbishment have not yet been announced. In the past two years, the refurbishment has been at the end of January. While that does not mean it will definitely happen at this time in 2024, it's good to be aware that it's a possibility during your trip. When the dates are announced, they will be listed on Disney's Pop Century Resort's webpage as well as the webpage for the Disney Skyliner. Be sure to check as your dates get closer.
It's always good to have a backup mode of transportation at the Walt Disney World Resort. Even if there is not a refurbishment going on when you are visiting, inclement weather or some other unforeseen circumstance could lead to closure. In the event that the Disney Skyliner is closed at any point during your trip, the Walt Disney World Bus Service will be running to ensure you get to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. These buses can also accommodate passengers in wheelchairs. Disney is all about accessibility!
Be sure to follow along with the
Disney Parks Blog to see if the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will be running when you are there. It usually runs for a good portion of January and February and is definitely the most unique festival at EPCOT. The park comes alive with all of the different areas of the arts, from painting to sidewalk art to Broadway performances and more!
