Do you know what is the closest fitness center that guests at Fort Wilderness can use? I saw on a post something about a purchasing a day pass at Grand Floridian or Saratoga Springs but I was not sure if that was accurate information.

Hi Dale and welcome back to planDisney! I appreciate wanting to stay fit during a Walt Disney World vacation. I myself like visiting fitness centers or doing some morning runs before rope drop! Now, let’s get you pumped and a response to your question.

Unfortunately, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort does not have a fitness center and guests currently cannot resort hop to access fitness centers at other Disney Resorts. I know this may not have been the information you wanted to hear, so I’m providing some tips and suggestions for staying fit while staying at Fort Wilderness!

First, Fort Wilderness has plenty of trails for running and biking. During my previous stay at the one of the Fort Wilderness Cabins, I was training for a marathon and was able to complete several runs lasting 5 to 7 miles! If you don’t have a bike, don’t fret! Fort Wilderness offers bicycle rentals at the Bike Barn! Next, Fort Wilderness offers basketball and volleyball courts to shoot hoops or spike a ball. Similar to bicycles, the Resort offers equipment such as basketballs and volleyballs for use. Finally, Fort Wilderness has kayaks and canoes available for rent so that you can get that upper body workout in while also appreciating the natural surroundings the Resort has to offer!

Dale, I hope you find this info useful and I’m sorry again that we couldn’t quite get the answer you were hoping for. If all else fails, all the steps during your visits to the theme parks will cancel out all the delicious snacks you’ll hopefully be snacking on! If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!

    Your pal,
