Hi Doris!
Thank you so much for sending us your question and welcome to planDisney! Even though I am 23 years old, I absolutely love meeting characters still, so I am thrilled to be answering your question today. There's truly nothing quite as magical as meeting your favourite character in the parks, and being able to bond and talk with them is, to this day, one of my favourite things to do at Disney. Although character dining looks slightly different now, it is still one of the best ways to see some of your favourite Disney characters while enjoying a nice meal!
A few restaurants currently offer character dining for breakfast around the Walt Disney World Resort.
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort offers a family-style breakfast alongside Mickey and his pals. Chef Mickey's is perfect if you plan on having character breakfast before a day at the Magic Kingdom as you will only be steps away from the park. If you were planning on going to Disney's Hollywood Studios during the day, however,
Hollywood & Vine offers a similar breakfast style right inside the park. There, you will see Disney Junior stars during this interactive dining experience and enjoy famous shared pastries - I have heard wonders about the monkey bread! For a day at EPCOT, I would recommend getting a reservation at
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera. Located at Disney's Riviera Resort, this French and Italian fusion offers some of the best meal options, such as the famous Mickey Waffle Dippers. However, it would not be Topolino's terrace without Topolino himself, which means Mickey Mouse in Italian! You will see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck in their stylish outfits. The best part is, once you are done with your meal, you can pop on the Skyliner and be at EPCOT in a few minutes. Lastly, if you have a wild day at Disney's Animal Kingdom planned, you must try
Tusker House Restaurant in Africa! There, you will be able to see Donald Duck and his friends in their explorer outfits while enjoying a family-style breakfast infused with unique African flavours. Tusker House Restaurant is one of my favourite dining options at Walt Disney World Resort, so I cannot recommend it enough!
If you would like more options, there are also character dining opportunities that are only offered during lunch and dinner. Inside EPCOT's Land pavilion, Garden Grill Restaurant offers an American-style meal in a rotating restaurant overlooking scenes from Living with the Land. This experience is incredibly unique as some of the food served is grown right inside Living with the Land's greenhouses! You will also be able to see Chip n' Dale and their friends walk around the restaurant in their best gardening outfits. Last but not least, go whistle while you dine at
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White for dinner. Located at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you can feast on memorable meals alongside famous characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
I hope this was helpful, Doris, and that you will get to meet your favourite characters on your next Disney vacation. If an offering is not available currently, definitely keep your eyes peeled as Disney is still slowly reopening more and more restaurants, and this list might change. If you have any more questions come up as well, don't hesitate to reach out! We'll be happy to help you with a smile and a song!
Have a magical day,
Ariane
