Welcome back, Amber!
You are a guest after my own heart with your excellent question! If you're like me, you've been collecting Disney Gift Cards along the way to help cover your vacation incidentals. Here are my tips & tricks when wanting to use your MagicBand for convenience, but also maximizing your Disney Gift Cards.
Use your
MagicBand as your method of payment for dining, shopping etc....you'll just need to make sure you have a valid credit card linked to your My Disney Experience Account when you complete your online check-in, this process will "activate" your MagicBand for charging capabilities. Then, you may visit the front desk in the lobby of your Walt Disney World® Resort hotel and "pay-down" your account with your Disney Gift Cards. It's that easy!
Keep in mind, once you've hit your resort's allowable charging limit, they'll charge the credit card on file, which can add up fast if your vacation package still has a balance. This charging limit will vary on your level of resort accommodations. For example, a deluxe resort has a $2,000 limit that can be charged to your account before they charge your credit card and start your limit over. However, if you still owe $1,000 on your vacation package when you arrive, you'll only be able to charge $1,000 back to your room before they'll charge your credit card. I'd just make sure you keep track and stop by the front desk to pay down your account every few days, depending on how much you have in gift cards and if you still have a balance on your reservation.
I hope this is helpful, Amber! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any additional questions you may have. I am here to help you plan all the pixie-dusted details.
