Hello Angela!
Thanks for your question, I'm excited to sail along with you as you plan for your cruise!
You're correct that guests are not allowed to bring appliances with them onto the ships. The
List of Prohibited Items also says that guests can only bring non-perishable foods that are sealed in the original factory packaging. When it comes to
Special Dietary Requests, Disney Cruise Line works very hard to accommodate guests and keep everyone comfortable onboard. However, the current policy prohibits Crew Members from storing, preparing, cooking, or reheating any food that guests might bring on the ship with them. I'm sorry!
I highly recommend that you go to the
"My Reservations" section of the website and fill out a
Special Requests form. You should also plan to attend an Onboard Dining Session on embarkation day so that you can speak to a Crew Member about specific requests. For peace of mind, I would also recommend
calling to speak with a Cast Member so that you can provide more details about your specific situation and see what they suggest.
When managing special dietary requests I find it's usually easier to enjoy breakfast in one of the main dining rooms, rather than the buffet. That way the servers can help you navigate the menu. I always adore the serving teams on the ships, they are just the best! There is a
variety of dining available on every ship, so hopefully there will be great options for your whole party.
I'm sending lots of pixie dust that you'll find a good solution for your mom to enjoy the cruise with you, Angela! Happy sailing!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
