i want to know if i buy an annual pass when the start date of the year begins. is it on purchase or on first time visting the park

Hi there, Kevin! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

Kevin, I've been a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder for years and I can absolutely tell you that it is well worth the cost of the initial investment. I've had years of magic and fun with my annual pass. It's so fun to be able to visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks pretty much whenever I'd like and the discount on food and merchandise is great too!

When you purchase a Walt Disney World Annual Pass you have a year to activate it from your purchase date. Then once you use it to enter a Walt Disney World Theme Park for the first time it is officially activated. From there you've got a year to enjoy all of the magic. Once you activate your Walt Disney World Annual Pass you will see the new expiration date updated in your MyDisneyExperience account.

Kevin, there are so many fun things to see and do at Walt Disney World even with a year of magic you won't be able to see and do it all. Be prepared to be hooked on having a Walt Disney World Annual Pass. The first year I had one I thought it was going to be one and done and here I am all these years later.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion you might have had about the annual pass program. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help. I hope to be welcoming you to the Annual Passholder family very soon, Kevin.

Have a great day and enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
