Hiya, Nicole!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question. While I love my daily dose of Vitamin D from the sun, it can get very hot during the California summer! I completely understand why you want to be prepared to stay cool.
Yes, umbrellas are permitted in the Disneyland Resort! While there are no specific
park rules regarding umbrellas, Cast Members reserve the right to restrict or prohibit any item if they consider it appropriate. To be safe, I would recommend that you bring a small umbrella that can easily fit into a backpack or bag.
When using your umbrella, please be mindful of others in crowded areas
(such as an attraction queue) and while watching a parade, as it may obstruct other guests’ views. When I visit the park on a hot day, I love to have a mini fan available as well for an on-demand burst of cool air when the heat really kicks in. If you’re coming with some kiddos, I recommend bringing a fan for each of them if you can.
Bonus Tip: Reduce your wait time in line by adding the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass to your ticket package. With Multi Pass, you can book an available time to ride select attractions. Once you arrive, you can navigate through the Lightning Lane, which is separate from the standard standby lane — and much shorter!
You may find that some ride queues are shorter than others. In that case, you can purchase a
Lightning Lane Single Pass for rides that are in high demand. One time, I simply purchased a Single Pass just to get on Radiator Springs Racers (it’s my favorite ride)!
Nicole, I hope this helps and that your upcoming visit to Disneyland is as easy, breezy, and beautiful as possible! Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.
Sending you faith, trust, and pixie dust,
Karmeen
