I would like to know the best resort for first-timer kids age four and six. We wanted to stay in Value or Moderate since they probably will not remember it much when they are older. However, we want to stay somewhere not too far from the parks. Thanks!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Nancy!

I am happy to hear that you are planning a first visit for two adorable Mouseketeers! I love visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with children and experiencing the magic through their eyes. You would be absolutely surprised to hear my 9-year-old daughter talk about the memories she made during her first when she was just 5-years-old.

They will be so thrilled to stay in the middle of the magic! Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can enjoy great benefits such as complimentary transportation to and from Orlando International Airport with Disney’s Magical Express as well as transportation throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. As a mother I really appreciate not having to worry about driving and finding parking spots during my vacation. Did you know that Disney complimentary transportation is stroller friendly? Plan to have a stroller or a double stroller, they will be very important to navigate the theme parks with the little ones!

Choosing the best Disney Resort hotel is impossible because they are all unique and magical, but I am going to cover some of my favorite value and moderate options to help you make your final decision. Speaking of value resorts, if you are traveling on a budget and visiting with a party of no more than 4 Guests, I recommend staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. The rooms have been recently refurbished and the new layout works well for a family of two adults and two small kids. There is lots of room to store your luggage and personal belongings, and the larger than life characters around the resort grounds are beautiful! My daughter loves the Toy Story and 101 Dalmatians sections. I recommend making reservations for a preferred room to be closer to the food court and transportation. If you feel that you might need more room to spread out, then I highly recommend the Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort that can accommodate up to 6 Guests and feature two bathrooms (as the mother of two girls I love that) and a kitchenette, which is just perfect to get a head start on your day by having breakfast in your room. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is just a short bus ride from all the fun, and the Disney Skyliner connects Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!

My favorite moderate Disney Resort hotel is Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. The hotel grounds are gorgeous! You can go for a nice stroll along the Sassagoula River and enjoy the beautiful nature all around. The children are going to love all the recreation options including the amazing Ol’ Man Island, where they will find a pool designed after an abandoned sawmill. You can also enjoy a campfire on the Bayou roasting marshmallows, rent bikes, and take a boat to visit Disney Springs! This Disney Resort hotel also offers convenient bus transportation to allfour theme parks.

I hope this helps you while planning, Nancy! Please stop by real soon with more questions!

    Best magical wishes,
