Hi! I would like to know what my best options would be for a Disney World resort to accommodate my family of 5. We would prefer 2 connecting rooms, or rooms next to each other, so that we have to bathrooms, but I read that adjoining rooms are not guarantee

Hello, Christine! You've come to the right place! We are a group of guests who have mastered the skill of planning Disney vacations, and now we spend our free time helping other guests plan theirs! I am the mom of a big family, so I have lots of experience finding hotel rooms that accommodate varying numbers of people, and I'd love to help you with your question!

Walt Disney World Resort does have rooms that have an additional bed and can sleep five. These can be found in Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. The extra bed is typically intended for a child. These are great options for a budget, but I have teenagers and can totally see why you would want the additional bathroom and extra space!

My favorite options for visiting Walt Disney World as a family of five are the family suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. There is a living area with one double-size sleeper sofa and one double-size pull-down bed. The separate bedroom has a queen-sized bed. There is also a kitchenette, and yes, two full bathrooms! I love the theming here! I'll link a great resort and room tour here.

Disney's All-Star Movies Resort also offers family suites. There are two pull-down queen-sized beds in the living area and a separate sleeping area with another queen-sized bed. These also have two bathrooms and a kitchenette, and the refrigerator is full-sized! These are one of the best values on Disney property. And don't be afraid of the pull-down beds. I have slept in them, and you can't tell the difference between these and the standard beds. They are comfortable!

You also have the option of a one-bedroom villa at either Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Both sleep five adults and have two bathrooms. Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my personal favorites. I'll link a helpful resort and room tour here.

Finally, you can still consider getting two connecting standard rooms at the resort hotel of your choice. It's true that Disney is unable to guarantee any room requests, but my experience is that Cast Members do their best and are often successful. Make a note of it on your reservation. A few weeks before your trip, call Walt Disney World Tickets and Hotel Reservations to ensure that your request has been recorded. On the day of your arrival, ask a Cast Member at the front desk about the connecting rooms. If this is a deal-breaker for your family, though, it's probably best to go with one of the previous recommendations.

You have so many options, Christine! I'm sure you'll find the perfect place for your family and have the most magical time! I love Walt Disney World in October with all of the pumpkins, decor, fall-themed treats, and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! If you have additional questions, I do hope you'll come back and see us here at planDisney
