    How can you know if the batteries in a Magic Band are still good? Ours will be exactly three years old when we go again. Will they still be listed as active even if the batteries are dead?

    Hi there Skipper Kelly!

    It’s so nice to see you here today visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It seems that the lifespan of a MagicBand ranges from 2 to about 5 years. However, the average lifespan seems to be about 2-years. My dad did bring his MagicBand, that was 3-years old, with him on our most recent trip and it did work! He had already planned on purchasing a new one if it didn’t, so that’s what I recommend you do as well!

    Unfortunately, there is no way of checking the battery of a MagicBand from home.Your MagicBands will still be seen as “active” on your My Disney Experience account until you physically remove them yourself. I suggest checking with Guest Relations, outside of the parks, to see if they are able to determine if your MagicBands are still working. 

    Keep in mind, if you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel you will receive a complimentary MagicBand with your reservation. If not, you are able to purchase a new one in the parks or online! I prefer using a MagicBand when I visit because of the convenience of having everything I need, right there on my wrist!
