Ahoy there, Heather. I’m honored to be answering one of your questions here at planDisney (you’ve asked some really good ones in the past!) and it sounds like you and I might be in the same parenting boat, so I’m excited to explore this topic with you.
You are right that the
Nightclubs and Lounges are reserved exclusively for adults after 9 PM; that includes Guests aged 18 and older. You must be 21 or older to drink on board, but as long as the members of your party are at least 18, you can all hang out together.
This opened up a whole new world at sea for me and my kids. As a single mom with two kids in college, I was so thankful when my youngest turned 18 last year so we could finally enjoy some of my favorite spaces together. Now they can live out some of their fandom dreams (like at
Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge) and tap into our British family roots (at
Crown & Fin Pub). Speaking of fan favorites, I can’t wait to experience Skipper Society and Haunted Mansion Parlor on the new
Disney Treasure.
Don’t forget, being 18 means they can also join you in the adult spaces onboard, like the Quiet Cove Pool (and the Cove Café), as well as for adult-exclusive dining experiences, like Palo and Remy. Now you probably already know this, but just because your kids can hang out with you more doesn’t mean they’ll choose to...but here’s hoping! But that’s one of the things I love most about cruising with Disney: even if each of us goes off to explore the ship separately, I know we’ll always find our way back to each other for some of our shared favorite activities like trivia or watching a Disney movie on Funnel Vision.
This goes without saying, Heather, but if you think of any other questions, you can always sail back to us here at planDisney…we’ll be waiting!
Embrace the magic,
Sami
