I know if you arrive early to fort wilderness theres a place you can park your rv. Is there electrical hook ups so I can run the ac for my dog?

    Hi Cindy!

We call the Fort Wilderness Resort home for many of our Walt Disney World vacations and it is because we don't want to leave our furry friends home alone. This resort is the only resort at Disney which allows families to bring their pets with them and this is only if they bring their recreational vehicle with them as well. The cabins do not allow pets.

There is a large parking area where you can park your RV's if you are arriving before your site is available or on your last day if you want to spend more time in the parks after check-out time. There are no electrical outlets for you to plug into so you would not be able to leave a pet inside. I have seen some guests use their generator in this lot but only if one of them remains with the vehicle. You would not be able to leave it running unless you were there. This is the same rule if you tried parking in a theme park lot.

There is a solution for this and it is called Best Friends Pet Care. This is the boarding facility located on property and just five minutes from Fort Wilderness Resort. You can call ahead for a day rate where your dog can be in an air conditioned facility or playgroup while you are waiting for your site to be ready. This allows you to head to a park and enjoy your day knowing your pet is safe and happy. We use this facility all of the time and our dogs have been so happy there. I can highly recommend it and it would certainly give you peace of mind knowing your pet is safe too.
