Do you know if anyone at the Kid's Activity Clubs have experience with special needs children? My daughter is 8 with mild development delay. She's fully potty trained, but sometimes needs an extra bit of help with activities etc.

Hello Kathleen, thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I couldn't find a lot of information about your question online, so I went straight to the source and called several of the Children's Activity Centers at Walt Disney World.

What I was told by everyone I spoke with is that they do allow kids with developmental delays in the activity centers. However, because the Cast Members are not specifically trained in this area the child must be high functioning.  Some examples they gave me were each child must be able to use the restroom with no help and they must be able to eat without assistance.  But they said any help with the games or crafts played is no trouble at all.  Just make sure to mention this to the Cast Member helping you when you go to check her in.

I hope this helps Kathleen.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
