I know you answer these questions all of the time, so I'm sorry to add another one. We're debating between the first week in June1-6 or the middle week of October12-17. What are the pros/cons to each week? Thank you for answering questions graciously.

    Becky,

Hello fellow Kentuckian!  Don't ever apologize for asking - we LOVE to answer your questions!  Sadly my tenure on the panel is drawing to a close, but I know I can speak for the new 2009 panel and say that they look forward to answering many more questions from you!  :)

Between the two, I would definitely choose October.  The weather is a bit cooler then, and the crowds are lighter.  Since most schools are in session, October is the off-season and that's always a great time to visit.  You'd also be able to enjoy two of our favorite happenings at WDW - the Food & Wine Festival in Epcot, and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom.  All of those benefits make October one of my families' favorite times to visit Disney.  The only drawback?  Hurricane season.  Hurricanes aren't likely to hit that far inland, but rain is possible.  We've only run into this once, but it is a possibility.  Pack ponchos, and plan to play right through the rain.  We always do, and it's great fun!

However, the first week of June would be pretty good too.  It's not too terribly hot yet, though it will be warmer than it would in October.  Many schools are still in session so the summer crowds aren't yet in full swing.  You will have just missed the close of the Flower & Garden Festival in Epcot (ends on May 31 in 2009).

Ok, I really tried to do a fair and balanced list, but in retrospect it's definitely slanted isn't it?  :)  We just really love the fall!  The park is decorated for the season, which is another thing you won't see in June.   Also, your room rates will be lower in October, as June is summer season.

    Hope that helps!
