Greetings, Mackenzie. Welcome back to planDisney! From one Star Wars fan to another, this IS the place you are looking for. I am happy to answer your question!
Before you start planning your outfit for your Disneyland visit, be sure to review the
Disneyland Inappropriate Attire section of the
Disneyland Resort website. It has all of the information on what is or is not allowed. For Guests over the age of 14, costumes and masks are not permitted. Additionally, "loose-fitting clothing which may drag on the ground and create a potential trip hazard" is not permitted. Mackenzie, without seeing your outfit, I cannot say whether it will be too close to a costume or not. However, it would be terrible to put time, effort, and creativity into an outfit that may not be allowed in the parks. If your attire does not meet the Disneyland guidelines, you may be asked to change it before entering the theme parks.
Mackenzie, if you happen to visit during a special event, like
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party, there are
different guidelines for park dress, and Jedis over the age of 14 are allowed to be in costume on those nights. However, you would still want to review the "Dressing for Special Events" guidelines before planning your costume. Even on those nights, costumes may not drag on the ground and Guests may not pose for pictures with other Guests. This information is, of course, subject to change, so please check back often.
I am sure whatever you choose to wear would make Princess Leia proud. Please visit us again with any other questions!
May the Force Be With You,
Melissa
