Jambo, Alyssa!
Welcome Home and Asante Sana (that means "thank you" in Swahili) for trekking by planDisney with your question. Alyssa, I love
Disney Vacation Club Villas because they truly are your home away from home, wherever you wander and wherever you roam!
Alyssa, one of the best parts of any of the Disney Vacation Club Villas is the kitchen, because it is the heart of every home. Our family has enjoyed many unforgettable family vacations in one and two-bedroom Villas because there is enough room for sleeping and gathering our pride for board game time - or watching the animals free to roam around all day on the savannah - after a fun Disney day. You are going to love your home sweet home at
Disney's Animal Kingdom - Kidani Village! Now Alyssa, the one-bedroom and larger Villas have full-sized kitchens equipped with gadgets and gizmos aplenty. So you can make plenty of grub (including full meals) for your family. They are listed as coming equipped with dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, a microwave, toaster, stove, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, dishwasher, and a dining room table with chairs. If memory serves me correctly, I believe there usually is a sheet pan that can be used for making cookies, and a few larger mixing bowls and serving utensils. I don't believe a blender is standard. However, one of my fellow planDisney panelists mentioned she was able to have one brought to her room upon request from Guest Services and they are pending availability.
I would recommend, Alyssa, that if you are specifically hoping for a muffin pan or roasting pan of a specific size, to consider purchasing a disposable foil pan with your grocery order. While the shops at Kidani and Jambo House do offer a few kitchen and storage items, you will find the most complete offerings for your watering hole at the nearby grocery stores. I also usually pick up some disposable storage containers as well for leftovers, and we travel with zip lock freezer and snack bags, coffee, tea, and coffee filters just to minimize our overall grocery costs.
Now if you are like me and love your fresh smoothies, I sometimes travel with my battery-operated personal smoothie blender. But if you need a heartier blender for larger quantities, I would recommend checking with Guest Services to request one be delivered to your Villa and again, these are based on availability.
Speaking of groceries, Alyssa, you can have groceries delivered to your Resort through Instacart, Walmart, Kroeger, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods. Just note that if Bell Services delivers the groceries to your room, there is a
$6 service fee (subject to change) per grocery order. You can avoid this charge by meeting the delivery driver in the lobby and borrowing a luggage cart to bring the groceries to your room yourself. I also recommend this because not all resorts have the capacity to store perishable items, and by ensuring groceries are delivered when you are there, you can be sure to put them right into the refrigerator.
My last tip, Alyssa, is that there are grills on the property available for use. My husband can't wait to be king of the grill on our Resort pool days. So, as you plan your meals, I recommend keeping a grill dinner in mind as well.
I hope this helps you, Alyssa! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, give me a roar. All you gotta do is look left, then you've got to look right. I'll be right here, standing in the spotlight!
Happy trekking,
Keri
