Hi Kirsten! We're trying Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom with our autistic son this summer. He takes instructions very well and loves interactive type screens. Do you have any tips to move him along a little faster so we don't create long lines? Thank yo

    Hello Jacqueline!

It's so nice to hear from you!
If your sons enjoys following instructions and interactive screens, Sorcerers of The Magic Kingdom is going to be a big hit with him!

I'd be happy to share a few tips with you. My son absolutely LOVES this game and plays often, each time we visit.

You really needn't worry too much about causing long lines behind you. The game itself prompts you at each 'portal' location and there are video clips that you watch along the way. Since there's no way of speeding through those, there's always an element of 'waiting' involved before your turn to engage with the screen will come up. Other Sorcerers in Training who may be behind you will be aware of the waits typically involved at each portal location.

Be sure to visit with a Cast Member at the former Firehall location in Magic Kingdom upon arriving at the park for a full tutorial and 'sample' portal before playing. Another tip: bypass the Fire Hall and visit the lesser known and less busy location in Liberty Square instead! It's located just behind Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.

To help your son keep his cards organized for spell-casting, and perhaps save a bit of time when making decisions at each portal, I'd strongly recommend that you pick up a Trading Card Album prior to your trip. I bought several albums for my kids back when they started the game. A 4-to-a-page album is a great size to easily fit into your day bag and keep all cards easily accessed. The magic portals can even read the cards through the clear plastic sleeves - so there's no need to fumble with taking cards out or back in.

I hope these tips help you to enjoy Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom even more Jacqueline!
Feel free to write me back if you have additional questions. I'd love to hear from you again!

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World this summer!
