Hi Kirsten, We just switched over to the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside from Wilderness Lodge. Keeping a special needs child in mind, which bus stop should we go to in the mornings and get off at in the evenings after visiting the parks? Thank you

    Hi Jacqueline!

Thanks for stopping in to visit me! I'm happy to assist you with your questions.
I enjoyed a stay in a Royal Guest Room at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside just last week. It was perfect!

I found transportation to be quite easy at this resort. We were in building 90, otherwise known as 'Oak Manor.' I requested a second floor room on the side closest to the river. This provided us with a walk that wasn't too long to the foot-bridge over to the Riverside Mill Food Court, or to the East Depot Bus Stop. If you prefer elevator access to your room, you may wish to request a third floor room in the central section of the building.

If you'd prefer a shorter ride over all, getting on at the East Depot (located just beyond the parking lot between Oak Manor and Magnolia) will be your best bet in the mornings. There are four bus stops around the resort, and the East Depot is the last stop before the bus exits the property. If you're most concerned about securing a seat on the bus, you may want to jaunt over to the South Depot outside the resort lobby to get on at that 'first' stop, then ride through the other three.

On the way home, if your son is already comfortably snoozing, you may to wait through the stops and get off at the East Depot. My (impatient) daughter and I almost always got off at the first, main stop at the lobby and then enjoyed our moonlit stroll back across the footbridge to the room.

If you have additional questions about the resort, please feel free to write me back any time you wish Jacqueline! I'd love to hear from you again!

Wishing you a Magical time as you plan your family's next Walt Disney World vacation!
