Hi Kirsten. I am coming with two children ages 9 (b) and 12 (g). I am not 100% sure they would be into character meals but could you recommend some interesting places for us to dine? We are coming really last minute... March 17, Magic Kingdom to start?

    Hi Faye!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
I'm so glad that you wrote in.

Character Dining can be enjoyable for children of any age ... including adults! You know your own kids best though, so if you're unsure, you may want to enjoy some 'regular' dining and save the Character interactions for in the parks.

There are so many great choices for dining in Magic Kingdom.

For starters, I'd so very highly recommend that you consider experiencing the Be Our Guest Restaurant for a Quick and Casual lunch in New Fantasyland. There will be a wait to enter the restaurant - but don't let that deter you. The line moves fairly quickly and it's well worth the wait - I promise you!

For dinner, some of my top picks which may still have some last-minute availability include Liberty Tree Tavern or Tony's Town Square. If you don't mind venturing a short distance outside the park, 1 monorail stop or a 10-minute walk, I'd also recommend The Wave in Disney's Contemporary Resort.

If you have additional questions or would like recommendations in other parks for other parts of your vacation, please don't hesitate to write me again Faye. I'd love to hear from you and it would be my pleasure to assist you further with your last-minute plans!

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
