Hi Kirsten. I see on YouTube a family can rent a boat on the big lake at the front of the Magic Kingdom. Can you tell me where I can rent a boat and if its expensive???? It really looks like a lot of fun. Thank you again!

    Hi Edwin!

Thanks for visiting me with your questions!

Many of the Disney Resort hotels offer watercraft rentals as part of their recreation services. You can rent a pontoon boat or Sea Raycer from resort marinas to cruise around the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake at your leisure. Rentals are for as little as 30 minutes, or 45 - 60 minutes at a time if you prefer. Full pricing listings are posted at each resort marina and are quite reasonable, beginning at about $40! A reservation is not required for this type of rental. Simply visit the marina at the time you'd like to head out on the water. My favourite marina location to rent from is Disney's Polynesian Resort. From here, you can tour around both lakes in the Magic Kingdom area and see all the sights.

Another amazing type of boat rental to consider is a Specialty Cruise. This type of rental does require an advance reservation by calling 407-939-7529. For a Celebration Cruise which includes viewing of the fireworks, a pontoon boat which can accommodate up to 10 guests may be reserved in advance. The cost is just under $300USD for a cruise which lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes soft drinks and snacks. Additional catering such as a cake, beer, wine and other dining can be arranged at the time you reserve you cruise if you wish. To watch Wishes over Magic Kingdom while you cruise, reserve your pick-up location to be from Disney's Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge or Polynesian Resort locations.

We've enjoyed both of these experiences during our family vacations and they're always highlights of the trip!

Wishing you a Magical time as you continue to plan your trip to Walt Disney World Edwin!
