Hi Kirsten! Thx for your help! We have an ADR for the wave but wondering if captains grille would be better. We will have ours kids 7,1 with us for dinner. Which would you recommend? Thx 8(:-D

    Hello again Laura!

You're most welcome! It's absolutely my pleasure to assist you and I welcome you to visit me as often as you wish.

As far as family restaurants go, I really do enjoy both The Wave and Captain's Grille and so do my kids. Given that your kids are young, you may want to weigh in your travel time to reach these locations based on where you'll be spending the day. Do you have a plan in mind in terms of which park you'll be enjoying prior to dinner that day? The Wave is very easy to reach on foot or by monorail from Magic Kingdom and a fairly direct bus route or monorail transfer from most other locations. Captain's Grille is a boat ride from Disney's Hollywood Studios or Epcot (or a short walk from Epcot's International Gateway) and a bus ride from Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom.

Captain's Grille has a bit more of a casual feel to it. The Wave has a really interesting and dark waiting area that my kids quite enjoy! As far as menu options for the children go, The Wave offers burgers, grilled cheese and pizza as well as grilled fish, pasta, petite filet mignon and even pork tenderloin. Over at Captain's Grille, the menu for the kids includes such basic options as chicken nuggets, hot dogs and burgers and also baked fish, grilled strips of chicken and grilled beef kabobs.

All of that being said, if you see plenty on those lists that your children would be happy to enjoy, then as an adult and parent, I'd stick with The Wave as top pick. I dined there for the first time almost two years ago and have been back many times since. It's fantastic. I love the presentation of the meals and the interesting choices available. I've tried something different each time and have yet to be disappointed.

I hope this helps with your decision Laura!
Feel free to write back any time.

    Have a Magical day!
