Hi Kirsten, my husband and I will be traveling to Disney this coming September. We will be traveling with our 15 month old son. Can you recommend the best Moderate/Deluxe resorts for small children? As well as restaurant recommendations? Thank You!

    Hi Krista!

Thanks for visiting me with your question!
September is a great time of year to visit Walt Disney World! Keep an eye on the website as Special Offers are always being updated and there are often some great ones for early fall!

In the Moderate and Deluxe resort categories, there are so many great options that will be just perfect for your young family. In the Moderate Category, my top pick based on atmosphere, resort size and location on property is Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. If having toddler-suitable wading pools and splash areas right on site at your resort is important to you, consider Caribbean Beach Resort and choose a Preferred Location room to be close to the pool, food court and bus stop at this large property. If you plan to take advantage of Disney's fabulous Water Parks during your stay, then I'd flip back to French Quarter being my #1 choice.

In to the Deluxe Resort category, the options are plentiful. My top pick with little ones is Disney's Beach Club Resort. The convenience of the BoardWalk Area's shops and dining, boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios are all just fantastic. Add to this the amazing recreational options such as beaches and sand-bottomed pool, and you'll soon see why this resort is a top pick for so many! My hands down, long time favourite though has always been Disney's Polynesian Resort. A zero-entry pool awaits you here along with sandy beaches, and just a quick ride on the monorail straight to Magic Kingdom. It doesn't get any more magical than this!

Dining options for young families are plentiful at Walt Disney World. I could go on for hours about my favourites! Please write me back with some info about types of cuisine you like or dislike, and whether or not you want to dine with Disney Characters with your young son. I'll be happy to share some recommendations in the parks and resorts!

I look forward to hearing from you again soon Krista!
