Hi Kirsten E! I have family arriving on Dec 31st mid day and they hope to get into a park. Do the parks get very busy on NY's Eve? Do they stop letting people in? Any idea if NY's Day is crazy busy as well? Thank you,

    Hi Suzanne!

December 31st is a popular day to be in the parks at Walt Disney World. There is always a possibility of the park closing to guests based on reaching capacity. These sort of closures are put in place only for safety and certainly not intended to disappoint Walt Disney World's resort or park guests.

You'll want to encourage your family to arrive as early in the day as they are able to. Securing a dining reservation inside the park is helpful too. If they've not already done so, and if any reservations are available, I'd highly recommend that they make themselves a dining reservation in the park they plan to attend. Magic Kingdom will undoubtedly be busiest, so if their main concern is to enjoy some park time that day, they may want to consider another park.

New Year's Day is generally not as bust as New Year's Eve, however the holiday season is a popular time to be at Walt Disney World. Again, arriving early in the day and choosing a park other than Magic Kingdom for the day will be helpful advice for them.

I hope this information is helpful to your family Suzanne, and that you're able to guide them to make the most of their visit! Wishing them a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
