What kind of transportation from MCO to Disney Allstar Music Hotel do you recommend?

Hey there, Glenn, and welcome to planDisney. You've come to the perfect spot to ask your transportation question for your Walt Disney World vacation next year!

Unfortunately, Glenn, Disney's Magical Express (which was a complimentary transportation service to and from the airport) will no longer be provided starting at the first of next year. This has left a lot of Guests, including yourself, wondering how they will get to the Most Magical Place on Earth to start making memories that will last a lifetime. Glenn, I've got you covered. I have a few options that I think might work out for you.

My personal preference when traveling between Walt Disney World and the Orlando International Airport is to use a ride-share service. I find these services are the least expensive option and are a very convenient way to get around. The two major ride-share company services this area and I've used both while on vacation. I like to check both apps before calling a car, however. Sometimes one company might have a special deal or promotion going on that lessens the cost pretty significantly. So I always double-check. Ride-share services can drop you off right outside of the lobby at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that you will be staying and then when you are ready to depart can also pick you up in the same location. I know that some people aren't as comfortable using ride-share services so another option that is going to be similar is using a taxi to go back and forth. Taxis will be set up right outside the doors at the airport and will be ready to take you anywhere you'd like to go. This is also a great option but I find the taxis are slightly more expensive.

Another option, Glenn, is to hire a car service to be waiting on you when you arrive at the airport. A quick Google search will turn up several companies that offer this back and forth service. You are able to choose the type of car you'd like such as a town-car, SUV, passenger van and if you want to be really fancy - even a limousine! Typically, your driver will be waiting inside the airport for you and will help you with your luggage. You can book this service as a one-way or roundtrip, whichever works best for you.

Mears, which is the company that used to run Disney's Magical Express, has come out and said that they will be offering some sort of service to Walt Disney World from the airport. If you visit their website, you'll see a section that says, "Coming Soon". If you are interested in this, there is a form to fill out with your email address so you'll be alerted when more details are available.

I hope these ideas help, Glenn. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop by and ask me. I'm happy to help. Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
