What kind of tours do you recommend at DLR? Do you know when the lunar festival events will occur at DLR?

    Hello there, Janet!

It's great to see you! Your arrival date is getting closer every day, I hope you're getting really excited!

Adding an "Enchanting Extra" to your vacation is the perfect way to enjoy some extra pixie dust! Guided tours are led by amazing guides who have a deep knowledge of the Disneyland Resort and the history behind the magic. At the moment, there are some seasonal tours happening for the holidays. I think it's likely that those tours will end before your arrival date, but there are two tours that I think may be available for you:

    • Walt's Main Street Story Tour offers a deep dive into the history of Main Street, U.S.A. as guides share the inspiration Walt drew from his hometown to create this unique entrance to Disneyland Park. The most special part of this tour is a visit to Walt's personal apartment located above the Disneyland Fire Station. I was lucky enough to spend a few minutes in the apartment last year, and it was an unforgettable experience to peek out the window and see the same view that Walt loved so much.
    • The Celebrating Disney100 at the Disneyland Resort Guided Tour takes guests through areas in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park as guides talk about the last 100 years of Disney animation magic. Tour guests will even get their chance to participate in the Animation Academy at Disney California Adventure Park! I will note that this tour is specifically for the Disney100 Celebration and we don't yet know how long it will continue to be offered into next year.
Both tours may be reserved online up to 60 days in advance, and require valid park admission and park reservations.

You also mentioned the Lunar New Year Celebration, which is scheduled to return in January 2024! We don't have an official start date yet, but I'd keep an eye out for an announcement on the Disney Parks Blog. I did look back at the event this year and found that it started on January 20, 2023, so that might give you a rough estimate of when the event could start next year.

Janet, don't forget about other ways to celebrate during your visit! My favorite Enchanting Extra is the World of Color Dessert Party. Delicious snacks and a perfect view of the gorgeous World of Color - ONE is a great way to finish off a special trip. I hope you find the perfect extra touch of pixie dust for your visit!

    Keep moving forward!
