Hey there Janice,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for your question! I love visiting the Disneyland Resort during the
Christmas and Festive Holiday season - it's one of my favorite times of year to visit the parks.
The
Holiday season officially kicks off this year on November 15. The main special event that takes place during this time is
Disney Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure Park where you'll have the chance to learn more about holiday traditions and cuisines from around the world. There haven't been any additional special ticketed events announced during the Holiday season, but you can keep an eye on the
Special Events page and the
Disney Parks Blog to hear the most up-to-date news on what you'll get to see and do during the Holiday season this year.
In general, you'll see holiday decorations up all over between the two parks, but what makes this even more special is that each land has themed decorations that tie in to that land. This makes for really great photo opportunities with the numerous Disney PhotoPass photographers all over the Disneyland Resort to find that perfect Holiday-themed family greeting card.
Additionally, multiple attractions get an extra special twist just for the season. In Disneyland Park,
"it's a small world" Holiday lights up each night, and Jack Skellington and his friends take over
Haunted Mansion Holiday. In Disney California Adventure Park, you'll get to experience
Mater's Jingle Jamboree and
Luigi's Joy to the Whirl.
Thanks again for your question, Janice! I hope you have a wonderful time visiting the Happiest Place on Earth later this year.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
