What kind of shoes would you suggest for kids ages 3-8?

    Hi Brittany,

Comfort is key when you are selecting kids' shoes for your upcoming vacation.  Don't make the mistake some folks make by buying brand new shoes before your trip.  Make sure your children wear shoes that are "broken in" before you arrive. You want to avoid blisters at all costs.  Be sure to tuck some band-aids in your travel bag, just in case.

Personally, I'm a big fan of waterproof sandals (like those made by Keen, for instance) as these shoes eliminate the wet sneakers and socks that sometimes result from water rides like Splash Mountain.  One time I had to buy a new pair of shoes (and full set of clothes) for my then six-year-old son who "discovered" the sidewalk fountains at Downtown Disney.  Waterproof sandals, if they are comfortable for your kids, work in almost all situations throughout the resorts, shopping areas, and theme parks of Walt Disney World.  Of course, I always like to bring a back-up pair of comfortable sneakers too.  (My son is notorious for misplacing his shoes, so a back-up pair is a must).  If you have plans to dine out at a special restaurant while on vacation, you may want to pack a pair of dress shoes, as well.

Enjoy an enchanting trip with your children.  Sounds like they are at the perfect age to experience the magic of Walt Disney World.
