Hi there, Selina!
Thanks so much for your question! I'm glad you're thinking about what to bring to the park with you, it's never fun to get to the security checkpoint and discover that you have an item that won't be allowed into the resort.
The
Disneyland Resort Rules currently state that any suitcase, bag, backpack, or cooler that is larger than 24" long by 15" wide by 18" high isn't allowed into the theme parks. More specifically,
coolers larger than what would fit a 6-pack of soda may not be allowed into the theme parks. Loose ice is also prohibited, so it's a good idea to bring reusable ice packs. If you do have a larger cooler, you can bring it with you past the security checkpoint and then
rent a locker to store it outside the main entrance of the parks. Those lockers can fit coolers up to 19" wide by 24" high by 31" deep, but they are not refrigerated and availability is limited.
One of my favorite things to bring into the parks for my family is tubes of yogurt...and as a bonus, they make amazing ice packs! I freeze the yogurt and use it to keep our other items cool, then the yogurt is thawed and ready for lunch. I also use disposable plastic containers (
glass containers aren't allowed except for baby food) to carry items like grapes and crackers, so they don't get squashed in my backpack. Also, if you have medication that needs to be refrigerated you're welcome to store it at
First Aid!
Don't forget to bring a good reusable water bottle! There are
bottle-filling stations all over the parks, so you can bring a smaller bottle and plan to refill it. Then you don't have to carry a super heavy one around all day. It's really important to stay hydrated in the parks!
I hope these tips and links help you pack a perfect park bag, Selina! Have a fantastic visit!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
