    What kind of clothing should we bring for late January?

    Hi MaryEllen,

    I wish there was an easy answer to your question! Unfortunately the weather can be quite unpredictable in Florida in January. A quick glance at the weather says that the average high temperatures are in the low seventies and the average lows are in the high forties. However the record temperatures are highs in the mid eighties and lows in the mid twenties. That's quite a range of temperatures! I do recommend checking with your favorite weather website before you leave. 

    But you didn't ask about temperatures, you asked about clothing. I admit I live in the Southeast near the beach and when the temperatures drop into the fifties, I reach for my winter coat. My best advice is to bring layers to make it easier to dress a little more warmly in the cooler mornings and evenings, and be able to remove a layer or two to enjoy the warm Florida sunshine at midday.
