Hi, this ? is for Kimberly. Just went to WDW & stayed @ the GF; we got our stay discounted because of the buy 4/get 3 free. We want to go next year to stay @ the GF, but are afraid that its too costly. How could we reduce the cost so this could happen

I love the elegance of the Grand Floridian!

The buy 4, get 3 free package was a great deal.

Yet, I’ve never paid rack rate for a resort. I monitor discounts at and when I’m too busy to research, I seek help from Mouse Fan Travel and Enchanted Destinations. They are online agencies that know Disney and care about getting their clients the best deals.

When designing my own vacations, I often “resort hop”. We will stay the first part of our vacation at a less expensive resort, and then transfer to the pricier resort. When using this tactic, I book the components of my trip separately getting the best room only and ticket discount possible. There have been many trips when we saved money by driving to Florida.

It’s impossible to predict if there will be discounts as attractive as the buy 4, get 3 package deal released next year.

Typically, I first book a room only reservation using a AAA discount as this insures that I’m able to stay at my first choice resort. Note that I failed to do this for our upcoming September trip and had been considering a budget vacation with lodging at Pop Century. PC is now sold out for my dates. After that initial reservation, I watch for room only or package discounts.

When we are unable to stay at the GF or opt to stay at another wonderful hotel in WDW, we almost always plan an evening to dine there.

I have stayed at nearly all of the hotels on property and while staying at the GF is magical, I’ve enjoyed the other properties as well. Walking around the tropical oasis that is the Caribbean Beach Resort. Watching my son hug the Herbie car at the All Star Movies. Torch-lit nights at the Polynesian. Viewing giraffes from our balcony at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Laughing as my toddler walked across the bridge at the Wilderness Lodge. So many magical memories!

Best wishes to you for another GRAND vacation!
