Hi Kimberly! You seem to really know your stuff about dscts! Wanting to stay at Cont in Jan. and can't figure out whether to book a la carte or a package. Not sure if the meal plan is for us. Can you book a package and still get room dsct later? Thanks

    Hi Vickie!

If you book a package, you'll want to keep close track of the cancellation/modification policies. One of the reasons that I avoid packages is due to the stringent policies, plus the need to have full payment 45 days in advance of the trip. There's only been a couple of times when a package yielded the best savings for us and that was when we were at a moderate or value resort.

I believe you would need to cancel your package, and reserve a new reservation in order to have a room only reservation.

I do know that you can not add a room only discount to a package reservation.

When staying at deluxe resorts, we've always found greater savings by booking a la carte. It's important to price out all of your options and choose which best fits your family. Some guests love the convenience of booking a package and others (myself included) like the flexibility of a la carte vacations.

If you think of any other questions or need clarification, stop back. I'm happy to help!!
