Hi Kimberly, In reading one of your posts re: restaurants (thank you!) you wrote something about a firework cruise. We are driving from CA this summer to spend 3 weeks at WDW which will include the 4th of July. Is this something I should look into? Thx

    Hi Jennifer,

One of my favorite splurges while in Walt Disney World are fireworks cruises. I've enjoyed two different types - Magic Kingdom fireworks cruise and Pirates & Pals.

For the Magic Kingdom specialty cruise, my husband reserved a private pontoon boat with driver and had the boat decorated with simple birthday decorations. Light snacks and beverages were found aboard our vessel. We enjoyed a cruise that showcased WDW trivia and then a lovely view of the fireworks. We had four people aboard this sailing and everyone agreed that it was a fantastic way to see the fireworks.

The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage departs from the Contemporary Resort. First, a festive gathering is held where Captain Hook and Smee pose for photographs with guests. There's also snacks and beverages! After lining your pockets with gold (edible) coins, it's time to cruise. With stories, songs, jokes, and trivia, the cruise is absolutely entertaining. It's topped off with a perfect view of the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. Finally, there's an extra special character greeting upon your return to the Contemporary Resort's boat dock. You'll even get pirate bandannas to wear!

I would definitely look into a fireworks cruise. There are also voyages from the Epcot resorts for IllumiNations.

Three weeks at WDW sounds absolutely wonderful. Enjoy!!
