Kimberly, we like your idea to resort hop. We like enjoying resort anemities with our sons 3&5 - but is visiting 3 resorts too much in a 10-12 day period? We budget for WDW every 2 yrs. We like AKL, WL, & POFQ or YC for a little of everything. Thou

    Hi Frank!

Our family is definitely resort hoppers.

I think there was only a couple of vacations where we hopped between 3 different resorts in 8-9 nights. Frankly, it was a bit tiring and I didn’t feel like it allowed us enough time to enjoy all of the resort’s amenities. Then again, we once stayed at All Star Movies for 4 nights, went on a 3 night Disney cruise and then returned for 5 nights at the Caribbean Beach. That was one of my favorite vacations. So if you could stay 4 nights at each of your choices, then you might not feel as rushed.

I will note that it was more exhausting hopping between resorts when our son was younger. He is now 8 and gets very excited to check in to new hotels. I might suggest only 2 resorts with your sons being younger.

The only time we’ve found resort hopping to be a real hassle was when one (or more) of us was not feeling well. Once we hopped from the Grand Floridian concierge to a Wilderness Lodge room and had to call ahead to see if a room would be ready. I was too ill to not have a room at my disposal. Thankfully the resort was very accommodating, although it was late January so the resort was not at capacity.

I think you would enjoy any of your resort choices. The boys are at a great age for the Port Orleans French Quarter pool and slide. Older kids will probably find this pool more boring than what is offered at other resorts. Both of the lodges are phenomenal. The Yacht Club would give you walking access to Epcot as well as the great Stormalong Bay pool. You would lack a food court at this location. The boat transportation to Hollywood Studios is delightful.

    Have fun choosing your resorts!
