    Hi, Kim. You're always so helpful with my Q's. Do you suggest taking the Disney Cruise in December or May? Wondering what the weather is like in Dec. v. May, if it's warm enough to swim both on ship and at ports of call. What about the crowds? Thanks! :)

    I truly love helping families get the most of their Disney vacations. I'm so happy to hear that you've found my advice helpful.

    There's no need to factor in crowds when sailing on a Disney ship. Each time the ship sails, it is at or near capacity. The popularity of the Disney Cruise Line keeps the ships full with repeat passengers and new cruisers. You won't feel crowded though unless it's a hot day at sea and you've gone to the pool in the middle of the day. Sometimes, you can walk down the hallways and feel as if you are the only passengers aboard the ship.

    So, let's take a look at the weather. You'll have a better chance of swimming on the ship during May. In December, if you depart from Port Canaveral, it can be a bit chilly at least until you reach the Bahamas. Average highs in the Bahamas will be 78 with lows around 66. In May, you'll find temps averaging a high of 84 and a low of 72 in the Bahamas. May has more days with rain, however. Temps in December at Port Canaveral are about 5 degrees cooler than in the Bahamas. While at sea, you'll need to factor in the ocean breeze too.

    If swimming is really important to your family, I would go with May!
