This will be my kids (8yr boy and 2yr girl) first time. We are going for the first Star Wars Weekend. after reading online, I am nervous that the crowds are going to be crazy. I want them both to enjoy their first time..any tips?

    Hi there Wendy!

How super exciting for your kids to be heading down to Walt Disney World for their first time during Star Wars weekend (SWW)! I'm going to be down there myself but on the third to last SWW weekend! I would have to agree that the park will be very busy if you go during SWW. We were there last year and couldn't believe the amount of people waiting for the parade to start! If your kids aren't huge SW fans then you will be fine as long as you stay on the opposite side of the Star Tours ride... It will be opening that weekend after a short closure due to an upgrade to the ride so everyone will be wanting to experience the new system. Make sure take in all of the excitement! It's a totaly different park when you have so many characters roaming the park in Star Wars costumes. If your kids want to Battle the Dark Side, make sure to get to the park somewhat early and when it opens, head straight to Star Tours to sign them up for the Jedi Training Academy. Ask a Cast member in the area for the cue location as it may change for the SWW. If you have time, go back during the week when SWW is not going on to see the whole park. I hope you and your family have a Magical Time at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel!
